Spring Leaf Pick-up - This service begins after the snow is gone (typically the first Monday in April) and goes until approximately the first Friday in May. In an effort to reduce waste, residents are asked NOT to bag their yard rakings. Yard rakings may be raked to the terrace area for collection by the leaf vac, as is done during fall leaf collection.
Plastic bags and brush are not allowed at the compost pile outside the CAWS site.
Fall Leaf Pick-up - This service typically begins in mid-October and usually runs through the Friday before Thanksgiving. Leaves should not be bagged and should be placed near the curb but not blocking sidewalks. Because the leaf vacuum is used for this pick-up, please help us maintain the equipment by removing non-leaf material such as twigs.
Brush Pick-up - This will occur during both spring and fall leaf pick-up the first week of each month . Sticks and branches must be piled separately from the leaves and can be no larger than 4'x4'by20'.
Sand/Salt Mix - During the winter months, the City provides a sand/salt mix at no charge to residents to use in driveways and on sidewalks. The mix is located next to the salt shed by the municipal garage at 160 Bennet Street. Residents must bring their own bucket and shovel.
