VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT NOTICE
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may submit a request to vote an absentee ballot to their municipal clerk. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who:
- will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day
- has resided in the ward or municipality where they wish to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.
The elector must also be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued*.
Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may make written application to your municipal clerk for an absentee ballot by mail, by fax, by email or at MyVote.wi.gov. Or you may apply in person at the clerk’s office during the In-Person Absentee Voting period listed below.
Your written request must include:
- your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote
- the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different from the address above
- your signature
- a copy of your photo identification*
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee by mail is 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 13, 2025**
*Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity, or disability may not be required to provide photo ID. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
**Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
Voting an absentee ballot in person
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is Friday, February 14, 2025.
No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election. The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

You must make a request in writing or via myvote.wi.gov
Contact your municipal clerk or download and submit the EL-121 absentee ballot request form to the city clerk's office. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your registered voter name, your date of birth, voting address with in the City of Clintonville, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, telephone or email information to allow city clerks office to contact you if there is a problem with your application and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee by mail is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Voting an absentee ballot in person
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the city clerk's office Monday thru Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am to 1:30 pm (After 1:30 pm, by appointment)
The first day to vote any absentee ballot in the city clerk’s office is Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the city clerk’s office is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024.

VOTING IN RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES
Special Voting Deputies for the City of Clintonville will be administering absentee voting for the residents at the following facilities for the General Election to be held on November 5, 2024. Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.

Only observers from each of the two recognized political parties whose candidates for governor or president received the greatest number of votes in the municipality at the most recent general election may accompany the deputies to each facility where absentee voting will take place. The observers may observe the process of absentee ballot distribution in the common areas of the home, facility or complex. Each party wishing to have an observer present shall submit the name of the observer to the clerk or board of election commissioners no later than the close of business on the last business day prior to the visit.
Family members of residents may be present at the time of voting.
