Water Utility Operator

The City of Clintonville is accepting applications for the position of Water Utility Operator.

This position entails monitoring the water treatment plan on a daily basis to ensure proper operations, performing laboratory tests, data entry, water treatment plant-related maintenance, supervising and training seasonal temporary positions, communicating with contractors, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions and must be able to wear respiratory equipment when needed.  Applicants must also be able to work in confined spaces.  In addition, this position requires mandatory on-call status 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis and applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and medical evaluation prior to hire. 

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent but an Associate’s Degree in water treatment or a related field is desirable.  Prior experience as a water utility operator is not required but is strongly preferred.  A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required upon hire and applicants must be able to obtain a Wisconsin CDL within 60 days of hire.  For a full job description and application, please visit www.clintonvillewi.org/overview/employment_opportunities.  Starting annual straight time salary will range between $48,880 - $59,700 depending on experience and qualifications.

This position entails monitoring the wastewater treatment plan on a daily basis to ensure proper operations, performing laboratory tests, data entry, wastewater treatment plant-related maintenance, supervising and training seasonal temporary positions and interns, communicating with contractors, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions and must be able to wear respiratory equipment when needed.  Applicants must also be able to work in confined spaces and have the ability to navigate manholes and lift stations using a full body harness and winch.  In addition, this position requires mandatory on-call status 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis and applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and medical evaluation prior to hire. 

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent but an Associate’s Degree in wastewater treatment or a related field is desirable.  Prior experience as a wastewater utility operator is not required but is strongly preferred.  A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required upon hire and applicants must be able to obtain a Wisconsin CDL within 60 days of hire.  Starting annual straight time salary will range between $49,274 - $60,218 depending on experience and qualifications.

Parks and Recreation Summer Laborers

The City of Clintonville Parks and Recreation Division is accepting applications for Summer Laborers.  The Summer Laborers will work directly with the staff to maintain daily operation of the Parks and Recreation Division. The laborer will work in a variety of different conditions to perform tasks such as: maintenance duties of park grounds, facilities/shelters, athletic fields, and equipment, including lawn care, cleaning, light equipment maintenance, and painting as needed.

The Summer Laborers will have the following qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to work independently, manage time well, and work in a variety of weather conditions out of doors
  • Must be 16+ years old
  • Valid driver’s license

This seasonal job will be available May through August 2022 with start and end dates flexible based on applicant’s schooling schedule. Regular summer hours will be Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 3:00pm and Fridays 6:00am to 2:00pm. Initial wage rate will be $11.50 per hour.
